i think you should keep the oak as it is. unless its superdry. it goes perfect with the nice floors. but TV needs to come up on the wall. BEAUTIFUL floors, must be old original ones.

hi, really cool piece. and love the wooden floors. if i were you i would definately use the space and hang the TV on the wall - gives it better porportions and then you can have a vase with flowers or something underneath. just a thought..

ok then its really simple, you dont need to sand it unless its a really thick coat of lacquer. just buy cleaningsoda to get dirt and oil off, then a primer and then water based paint. all together, including wait for the different steps to dry it could be done in 2 days. but be thorough with the brush cause its so many details in the wood...good luck!
