you definately need more lights in here. and shoe shelves on the walls would also give more space. with those high ceilings this room definately has potential.

..and also inbuilt spotlightning would be great in a tighter hallway like this but a more simple way to create light is to get those long tracklights with lamps that you can point to both sides. Good luck/Tom

you should definately get those wall hung shoe storages from ikea, dont know the name but they have a nice, more feminine one in white with some ornate aluminum sides. i wouldnt go for a darker color in this hall, only if a whole family uses a hallway and takes in strollers and stuff that leaves marks on the white.
