We have remodeled practically the entire house over the last eight years. Everything except the fireplace! It's hideous and wall-wall. We recently put in the old wood burning stove and I want to make the entire thing look good. We have a limited budget, and a Husband who is tired of remodeling. Any suggestions? Please help!

This is what I need help with! I think I can talk to my husband into painting the wood burning stove if neccassary. I'm at a standstill. I'd like to keep some of the rock exposed and am not sure just painting it is the answer either. There are jagged rock shelves sticking out?!?
