| Does anyone know the best way to refurbish wood floors??? Is a shiny coat of lacquer the most durable? i was thinking of renting a sander and do it myself or is that not recommended..all tips welcomed. The floor is light oak and pretty beaten up. | ||

After sanding them try a matt laquer instead and ask them to add pigment to it if you wanna change the tone of the floors (they often become a bit yellow with age). Heres a picture of my floor with a neutral more brown tone added to the laquer. Some choose to oil the floors which looks nice, but then they easily get stained by water etc. Using matt or shiny laquer ( i think there is some sort of wax that can be used also) creates a much harder and durable surface.
